Hello i’m Astrid Böhne

JUNIOR GROUP LEADER

ABOUT ME

I am a molecular evolutionary biologist fascinated by the differences between the sexes of a species and how they are generated. My research focuses on the identification and characterization of sex-determining systems in fishes. I am investigating the evolution of these systems in the enigmatic cichlid fishes of Lake Tanganyika on the genomic and transcriptomic level using bioinformatics and molecular methods.
